Through the years, Develon has continued to grow and innovate, becoming one of the leading global players in the worldwide construction, mining, recycling, and forestry equipment industries.



Astec Industries

Astec

Astec Industries was founded in 1972 with the vision to apply creative thinking and state-of-the-art technology to traditionally low-tech industries, bolstered by a corporate culture renowned for putting customer service first.


Peterson Pacific Corp., now Astec, was established in 1981 by Neil Peterson originally as a construction company in Oregon. Neil started designing and building forestry equipment to suit their own land clearing and forestry needs. This innovation led to the manufacturing of industry-leading Whole Tree Chippers, Horizontal Grinders, Debarkers and Blower Trucks.


Carlson Paving Products Inc., now Astec, is an asphalt paving equipment manufacturer that has been leading the industry since 1991. Carlson set new industry standards with its world renowned EZ-series screeds and heavy-duty commercial paver line.


Roadtec, now Astec, began as a manufacturer of asphalt pavers in 1981 in Dalton, Ga., and has since expanded its product line to include cold planers, cold-in-place recyclers, soil stabilizers, brooms and material transfer vehicles.



Yanmar

Yanmar

In 2021 Astec invested an additional $6.2 million dollars into expanding their facility on Manufacturers Row in Chattanooga TN in order to bring Carlson and Roadtec innovation and manufacturing under one roof.

Yanmar was founded in March 1912 in Osaka, Japan as an engine manufacturer. Yanmar created the first viable small diesel engine in 1938. After launching their first line of mini excavators in 1968, Yanmar has developed and manufactured the most trusted and reliable compact construction equipment on the market today including mini and midi excavators, wheel loaders and wheeled excavators.



ASV

ASV

ASV was founded in 1983 in Marcell, Minnesota with the intent to build a rugged work vehicle that could handle environmental and terrain challenges. ASV, Inc. designs, builds, and markets the Posi-Track, an all-season, rubber-tracked, work vehicle most notable for its incredible versatility. Yanmar acquired ASV in 2019. The acquisition strengthens Yanmar’s range of compact equipment products allowing it to offer full dig, load, carry solutions on the worksite.



Rotobec

Rotobec

Rotobec grapples were established in 1975 by Marcel Cayouette and Justine Leblond in Quebec. While repairing hydraulic hoses on a forestry attachment for a customer, Marcel came up with an innovative design of a 360° rotation so that hoses would stop breaking. This innovation is the name came from, as Rotobec means: “rotators” of Quebec. Rotobec has gone on to become the gold standard in the Grapple Attachments and loader segments of the forestry, scrap, waste and rail industries.

ASV

Since 1976, SAKAI America has supplied the most reliable, easy-to-use, and durable compaction equipment for paving and sitework. The vibratory and oscillatory asphalt rollers are suitable for any size pavement job from parking lots and driveways to road maintenance, municipal roads, highways, and interstates. SAKAI’S soil roller line includes machines with compaction widths of 54” to 84” and smooth, padfoot or sheepsfoot rums. All SAKAI machines are either built in Adairsville, Georgia manufacturing facility or in Japan.
